The complexity increases as it has to be considered that in order to deal with something there have to be many networks which are interconnected to form multilayered and complex systems.

Research about networks is investigating:

  • The formation of the mesh of networks
  • The topology of the system with metrics and properties
  • Diffusion dynamics with incomplete knowledge
  • Interconnectivity with promoters or disturbers
  • Vulnaberability of interconnected networks
  • The resilience to damage
  • The degree of interconnectivity needed for the emergence of cooperation
  • The influence of time delay and synchronization
  • Real mobility investigated from multiple networks perspective
  • Understanding of social structures
  • The empirical structure and centrality of multiplex interbank networks in finance
  • Financial networks as nexus of networks in general

As you can imagine the last two topics are the most difficult ones, because there have always been conflicts about wealth distributions, but it is and has always been distributed as a result of political power and competition between networks.
